Abstract: Dredging equipment is the operating system and core component of a dredger. For a long time, in China, there was a dependence on foreign dredging equipment and an over dependence on foreign dredgers. When a breakthrough is made on the dredger, the issue of homemade dredging equipment made the principal contradiction. In recent years, more than 10 large TSHDs were designed and built in China. In regard to the issue of dredging equipment, through cooperation from the users, design units, shipyards, and equipment plant, a variety of dredging equipments were designed and built. The performance met the application requirements. Equipment prices dropped sharply over imported products. Some products have been the result of productive forces and successfully applied in domestic large TSHD. This paper describes the development and application of locally made dredging equipment on large TSHD.
