A Study of the Visualization of the Grab Boatâ's Bucket

Abstract: The grab bucket is a major component of grab boat, Most of time, the bucket works in the water, and people do not know the situation of the bucket. In order to operate the bucket in a certain depth and be dredging effectively, the situation of the bucket should be shown to the operator. One effective method to deal with this is installing some special sensors around the grab machine and use a PLC to collect the sensor’s signal, and programming this into the computer to read the PLC registers’ data, and show the data on the display. This article will introduce the structure and basic principle of the system of both software and hardware, and finally present a comparison of dredged depth and actual depth in a table.
