Abstract: A type of dredging auto-control system has been designed and installed on the cutter dredger “Xin Hai Ou” and others. The system is flexibleCso can be customised to use on Hopper dredgers or other kinds of dredgers. It includes four important parts, SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), AMS (Alarm Management System), DTIS (Dredging Track Information System) and PLC system. Each part uses different software engineering methods to suit its task. This article discusses the architecture and technical scheme of the whole system. On implementation it was expressed that the system was well designed and robust.
