Abstract: Generally, dredging equipment is operated with soil, sand, gravel and rock-fill. The dredging equipment encounters severe wear and abrasion problems when working on sand or rock with high hardness, coarse granularity and sharp edge, which increases not only the cost of replacing spare parts and repairing, but also the loss due to the outage of the equipment. Consequently it is an urgent mission for dredging companies to improve wear resistance and service life of the dredging equipment. It is applicable to adopt a material having high wear resistance on dredging equipment.
Aimed at the wear and abrasion problem on the dredging equipment, this article introduces the application of SA1750CR chromium carbide overlay plate to the dredging industry.
