Discussion of Underwater Desilting Measures in Engineering

Abstract: According to the present situation in engineering, desilting measures and the characteristics of fine-grained depositing sediment is in combination with the theory of flow in a pipeline with uniform draw-off. A measure using desilting corridor along the path to solve engineering sediment problems is proposed. The structures and the application advantages about this measure are outlined, and a solution briefly put forward for potential problems in the the process of use. Similar methods in engineering applications are roughly introduced. Extensive studies could be carried and the following effects shown That if the desilting corridor has a good applicability, then the measure might be an optional desilting method in the fairways, reservoirs, power plants, ship locks and other hydraulic projects.
