Abstract: Dredging simulation is an advanced approach in training any dredge crew, assisting the production-decision-making and studying dredging technology. In accordance with the equipment, working conditions and construction characteristics of a cutter suction dredger, the basic design, structure, key techniques and difficulties in the development of the simulator are proposed and analyzed in this paper. The function and the application of the simulator are discussed. A cutter suction dredger simulator with a multi-channel round screen has been put into operation and has produced good results.
