Developing Status of Dredging Equipments in China

Abstract: Due to the development of the domestic dredging market in CHINA and requirements of international competition for Chinese dredging companies, the dredging capacity of the Chinese dredging industry is increasing steadily. Dredgers in CHINA get bigger, more varied, increasing quantity and quality is required to reach an international level. As the important parts of dredgers are different from the normal vessels, research and manufacture of dredging equipments has been developing and basically made in CHINA. The paper mainly describes the application of dredging equipments of the trailing suction dredger, cutting suction dredger and bucket wheel suction dredger, including the dredge pump, suction pipe hoisting system, loading and unloading system, cutter and cutting wheel system, hydraulic system, dredging monitoring system and so on. The paper also compares the difference between CHINA and the main dredging companies of the world and gives prediction of the future dredging equipment in CHINA.
