Abstract: This paper introduces China’s first jumbo TSHD-TONG CHENG which is designed by MARIC. This vessel has the following characteristics : It adopts the flush deck which is suitable for dredging in deep and offshore seas; the hopper’s capacity is 18,374m3 which is the largest in China until now; the dredging depth can reach as depth of 85m with the submersible pump, and by now it enjoys the largest dredging depth capability among China’s dredgers. Full frequency conversion electric power is adopted to drive the main dredging equipments, such as the dredging pump, submersible pump and jet water pump. It is also the first to apply box-shape bottom-doors on a China owned, designed and built large TSHD.
