Abstract: Based on the analysis of the shipping demand of the Yangtze River, this paper focuses on the general idea of channel regulation during the twelfth Five-Year Plan, which includes the construction of goals, ideas , the recent key emphasis in work and so on. It aims at the goals of channel management and puts forward the key technological issues in the channel improvements of the Yangtze River Waterway, which includes packaged technology, simulation technology of the stability of regulating structures, regulation parameters, and the technology of a beach protection project.
