Abstract: In China, how to handle the hundreds of millions cubic meters of dredged soil each year, became an increasingly serious problem. With the development of science and technology and human awareness of environmental protection, the scope of dredged material utilization become more and more widely. This article describes the major improvement methods of dredged soil and the use of direction, which focused on the chemical method of adding curing materials into dredged soil. Through the unconfined compressive strength and other mechanics physical testing, also the analysis of test results and discussion of the variation of compressive strength of modified dredged soil. With the theoretical reference value for the practical application of engineering.
At the same time summarizes the dredged soil currently utilization direction, such as backfilling materials to the harbour engineering, airport and urban housing projects; for agriculture, forestry and ecology, horticulture; as a coverage of the solid waste dump; engineering backfilling material .
