Abstract: A lot of raw data is contained in Qinhuangdao harbor project, including project profile information, hydrological and meteorological information, measurement and geological survey data, test parameters, and some results reports, etc., and needs to be classification storage and management. In this paper, with the example of Qinhuangdao harbor project, due to the diversity and complexity of the data source, based on development platform VC + +2005, and with AutoCAD, MS Excel, MS Word as basic tools, MS Access database technology is used to establish a database management system for soil of Qinhuangdao harbor project. It stores and manages basic information of the project, hydrological and meteorological data, measurement and geological survey data, of which includes water depth data, borehole drilling point and profile data, soil parameters data and so on and some of them can be calculated and analyzed; Meanwhile, the system can provide basic data directly for three-dimensional soil digital modelling and analysis of Qinhuangdao harbor project to carry out visual query, and finally provides a technology platform for complex soil information management in the future dredging engineering.
