Abstract: With the rapid development of China’s economy, our country’s dredging industry is now experiencing the peak of development especially during the period of the Nation’s Tenth Five Year Plan. The increased prosperity of the industry attracts many private capital and the non-professional enterprises to enter the dredging market, as a result, combination of the negative effect of over-investment and the 2008 financial crisis drives many dredging enterprises into the corner of losing money. The dredging business is characterized by the intensive capital and technology and the limited market volume. In the interest of its healthy development, it is necessary to build a self-disciplined competition environment in the whole industry. This paper presents some suggestions through the analysis of China’s present condition, the future trend of dredging market, features of equipment development, industry self-discipline, productivity transferring and enterprise management .
