Abstract
"(Article in Chinese only) - The cutter suction dredger is suitable for dredging various geotechnical media from clay to hard rock, while for the hard rock the dredging efficiency is low and tooth wear is serious. Therefore, it is of great significance to study new methods of rock dredging. It has been shown that increasing the free surface in the rock can improve the rock breaking efficiency of the cutter. Therefore, this paper first studied the influence of the free surface effect on the rock breaking performance of the cutterhead of the road header. Based on ANSYS/LS-DYNA finite element software, the rock-breaking model of the cutterhead was established, and the influence of the number, diameter and arrangement of the holes on the rock-breaking performance of the cutterhead was studied. The numerical results were compared with the experimental results to verify the numerical results. Furthermore, the feasibility of free surface effect to improve rock breaking performance of dredger cutterhead was analyzed, and several free surface layout schemes were proposed to provide basis for subsequent research."
