CEDA-UK would like to invite you to join their seminar on IN-HOUSE PORT OWNED DREDGERS followed by an amazing site visit to the UK’s new trailing suction hopper dredger, the Emerald Duchess on Tuesday 30th September at PD Ports, Tees River.

Seminar speakers from PD Ports, UK Dredging, The Bates Partnership and the Port of Dover will present a range of presentations on the subject of port-owned dredgers, their merits and challenges, and bring together the experience of the UK ports in owning and operating their own dredger to maintain their navigable depths. The speakers will outline the important aspects to consider when determining if purchasing such a vessel is viable or not. Real world cases of where dredgers have been just purchased and alternatively just sold will be put forward to attendees.

This seminar would be of interest to all ports, harbours, marinas and waterways that are considering purchasing inhouse dredging equipment.

A visit to and tour of the UK’s newest port owned dredger, the Emerald Duchess, will take place in small groups after the presentations, as well as a visit to the port’s Vessel Traffic Service (VTS). 

Places on the dredger visit are strictly limited to 16 persons (two groups of eight) due to the maximum permissible numbers aboard our crew vessel and can be booked on a first-come, first-served basis. Each delegate must provide their own PPE consisting of safety boots, a hard hat and a high vis jacket if they wish to attend the dredger visit. However, please note that PPE is not mandatory for attending the seminar presentations.
