What
The Markerwadden is a unique project aiming for the restoration of the natural assets of the Marker Lake by the construction of islands made out of sand, clay and silt, providing a new natural paradise for birds, fish andplants. This excursion offers a boat trip on the beautiful sailing ship ‘Abel Tasman’ and guided tour on the islands, to learn about the construction process and to witness the scale of the project. The excursion is free ofcharge and includes on-board lunch and drinks.

Who
We invite motivated students and young professionals who are interested in real-life applications of the Building with Nature philosophy in the dredging industry. Participants will be selected by Young CEDA on registration of interest. The number of places is limited, so quick registration is advised.

Excursion time table (subject to changes):
12:00h Departure from Bataviahaven, Lelystad
12:00h – 13:00h Boat tour to Markerwadden Islands on ‘Abel Tasman’, incl. presentation and lunch
13:00h – 14:30h Guided tour on Markerwadden Islands by Gerard van Raalte
14.30h – 16.00h Return to Bataviahaven by boat.
