CEDA at the London Convention Scientific Group Meeting

CEDA reprersents WODA (World Organisation of Dredging Associations) at the 31th meeting of the Scientific Group of the London Convention and the 2nd Meeting of the Scientific Group of the London Protocoll. The meeting takes place on 19th - 23rd of May 2008 in Ecuador.

CEDA submitted the following documents to the meeting:

The meeting is attended by Polite Laboyrie, Chairman of CEDA Environment Commission (CEC).

Mr Laboyrie who is Head of Department Hydraulic Engineering and Environment
Rijkswaterstaat, Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management, Centre for Public Works, will give a short presentation about the new CEDA-IADC book "Environmental Aspects of Dredging". He will also represent PIANC in this meeting and will inform participants about the forthcoming reports of PIANC EnviCom Working Groups. CEDA has representatives on each working group.

The proposal on a WAG Training Set extension for application of low-technology techniques when assessing dredged material will be presented in the meeting by Any Birchenough, CEFAS, UK who contributed to the development of the proposal. Mr Birchenough, also member of CEDA's Development Committee,  will be present in the LC SG meeting as a UK representative. For the time of the presentation of the WAG proposal he will be wearing a CEDA hat.
