CEDA's signature event
First organised in 1980, CEDA Dredging Days® has established itself as the primary international dredging conference in the CEDA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa). The conference and exhibition is widely considered as an invaluable forum for leading researchers and industry experts. Join them as they discuss and share dredging challenges and solutions and showcase the latest advances in technology.
Traditionally, CEDA Dredging Days® was organised every two years in conjunction with the Europort Exhibition. It is held at Ahoy Rotterdam, in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Until 2003 it took place at the RAI in Amsterdam. Now, in addition to the biennial schedule, CEDA or its regional / national sections may also organise CEDA Dredging Days in other locations.
Always well-attended
The conference is usually attended by more than 230 participants representing the entire cross-section of CEDA’s diverse membership both in terms of expertise and geography.
Knowledge and experience
The two-day technical programme features hosts internationally-renowned experts, and features approximately 20 peer-reviewed presentations, in 4-5 plenary sessions, with opportunities for discussions and interactive participation.
Support for young professionals and students
As part of our ongoing support of young professionals and university and college students, CEDA Dredging Days 2015, will include a special session within its technical programme. The Academic Session will give them the opportunity to present papers to the conference on any dredging-related subject. They will not have to adhere to the conference theme.
The Young Author’s Award, for the best paper at the conference by an author under the age of 35, is usually presented by the International Association of Dredging Companies.
Young-CEDA occasionally organizes CEDA sponsorship to help encourage the participation of students.
Technical showcase
The conference is accompanied by a select technical exhibition (of no more than 15 stands) located near the technical session room. Its central location means that organizations have an excellent opportunity to present their products and services to a select and focused group of international experts and decision-makers.
A rounded programme
Other regular elements of CEDA Dredging Days® are a pre-event technical visit and accompanying persons’ programme. Our reception on the first evening of the conference provides a relaxing opportunity for delegates to meet, make new contacts, and catch up with old friends, before the conference begins in earnest.
Conference proceedings
All presented papers are published in conference proceedings. CEDA Dredging Days Proceedings are included in the Conference Proceedings Citation Index.
