CEDA Dredging Technology Webinars

Events - Webinar - DredgingTechnology

This series of CEDA Webinars on Dredging Equipment and Technology will focus on the Cutter Suction Dredge and the Trailing Suction Hopper Dredge.

This series of CEDA Webinars on Dredging Equipment and Technology focuses on the Cutter Suction Dredge and the Trailing Suction Hopper Dredge and is presented by two internationally renowned authorities on the subject, Prof. Dr. ir. Cees van Rhee and Dr. ir. Sape Miedema of the Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands.

The series will comprise of two basic level presentations on the working principles of these two dredgers, and four advanced level presentations on more specific aspects. Please refer to the table below for an overview.

 Presenters
Prof. Dr. Ir. Cees van Rhee is full Professor of Dredging Engineering at the Delft university of Technology. He obtained his PhD degree in 2002. His main scientific achievements are modelling of highly concentrated sediment water flows and high velocity erosion of granular sediments. He is the author of numerous scientific publications. Dr. ir. Sape Miedema is Associate Professor of Dredging Engineering. In 1987 he was the first person in the world obtaining a PhD degree in Dredging. He is the author of about 150 scientific publications and of the books: The Delft Sand, Clay & Rock Cutting Model and Slurry Transport, Fundamentals, a Historical Overview and the Delft Head Loss & Limit Deposit Velocity Framework.
