How CEDA fits in?
A number of international and national organizations, both professional and trade, currently operate in dredging and related fields. CEDA staff and members representing the association at various international forums, are often asked to explain the difference between them and how CEDA fits in. Many of them have very similar sounding acronyms and it's not surprising that there is confusion. In an attempt to sort it out the figure below shows those international professional and trade associations we most often work with on issues, projects of common interest.

On national, regional level, the Regional/National Sections of CEDA regularly organise meetings in their own region /country together with the national chapters of these associations - if those exist - and with other national associations. Examples include KNVTS (Royal Netherlands Society of Professionals in Shipping Technology), Netherlands; UAPNA (Association of North African Ports, Union d'Administration Portuaire du Nord de l'Afrique), Morocco; and of course the national sections of PIANC. We have links with various professional engineering and environmental institutions such as ICE (Institution if Civil Engineers) and CIRIA in the UK or KVIV (Royal Flemish Society of Civil Engineers) in Belgium.
